West Virginia Gifted Matrix^© helps identify historically underrepresented gifted students (HUGS).

West Virginia Gifted Matrix includes:

West Virginia Gifted Matrix was initially approved by the West Virginia Department of Education in 2008 for Kanawha County Schools. The framework of the West Virginia Gifted Matrix weights has not been altered. The only changes are the inclusions of the current state assessment (WVGSA), which replaces the previous Smarter Balanced assessment, and new and updated cognitive instruments. A new Ring Weights Graph was added to the West Virginia Gifted Matrix report.

The West Virginia Gifted Matrix program is a FREE download. School districts wishing to have their HUGS checklists added to the program for their use should email us through the contact form with a note for Charles Szasz in the message.
